Why we start with the source, not the symptom
Sciatica describes pain along the sciatic nerve, which runs from your lower back down each leg. It is a symptom, not a diagnosis. The pain you feel in your leg often begins in the lower back, where a bulging disc or an irritated joint may be pressing on the nerve roots.
Treating the leg rarely changes much if the source is in the spine. That is why every new patient starts with a detailed examination to identify the specific area of the spine involved, before any adjustment is made. If we find that chiropractic is not the right fit for your case, we will tell you and refer you to the right provider.

Common questions
What is sciatica?
Sciatica is pain, numbness, or tingling that follows the path of the sciatic nerve, from the lower back through the buttock and down the leg. It usually affects one side. Common sources include a bulging or herniated disc or irritated joints in the lower back.
Is all buttock and leg pain sciatica?
No. Tight muscles in the hip, such as the piriformis, and problems in the hip or sacroiliac joint can cause similar pain. Part of your exam is sorting out which one you are dealing with, because the approach is different for each.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?
No. You can book directly with us. Some insurance plans have their own requirements, so we check your plan before your first visit.
Do you take insurance?
